I have a potterton kingfisher mf50 floor standing boiler. The pilot flame lights but the main gas burner does not. The boiler flame indicator light comes on when the pilot lights. Room and hot water tank therms are working ok. programmer (horstman) indicators come on with the pilot light. Pump is working (removed and tested), and mid valve is open. The only thing I think it might be is the gas valve (honeywell) Any suggestions would be appreciated. The boiler is 19 years old and the system is fully pumped.

If it is the gas valve and I get a c/h engineer to replace it, what should I expect to pay?
