Hi all,

We have a Potterton Suprima boiler (c. 15 years old, I'd guess), with a water storage tank in the loft. The central heating and hot water work fine, up to a point... there is never enough hot water to fill a bath, it runs out halfway, and then there's no more for another hour or so. What could be wrong with it? Is there anything I can do without calling out a plumber?

Thanks

Is the boiler stat set hot enough?
Is the cylinder stat (if there is one) working, and set to around 60 degrees?
Is the programmer set to HW for long enough?

To help us further you may need to measure the volume of hot water you are expecting.

Take a bucket of known volume or measure the volume with a measuring jug.

Then from the cold tap see how many bucket fulls you need to fill the bath to your chosen level.
