I have a potterton prima 60F that occasionaly start clicking. Almost like its trying to tell me something.

The pilot light stays on but the jets go out. If I press the rest button it comes on but the minute I let go it goes off. Eventually after pushing my finger up there a fews times it stays on. I am fairly sure the pump is ok.

Is this the boiler shutting of cos it has got too hot inside or what?

p.s. when the sad days comes and the boiler gives up the ghost, can I replace it with a similar balanced flue job or do I have put a new fangled one in (condenser or combi).

Any help will be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Yes this is the overheat stat operating and yes you can have a balanced flue condensing combi.
