I hope someone out there can help......?
I have an Ideal m30100 boiler which has worked fine for the last 5 years but has now decided to stop supplying central heating....?
The boiler kicks in fine when demand for hot water is needed but will not heat the central heating system.
I have a seperate Digistat which controls the times and tempretures needed ect which seems to be working fine...? but not sure if the signal is, a: reaching the boiler or, b: the boiler is receiving the signal but the PCB is not working....?
Has anyone had a similar problem solved or does anyone know of an inherent fault with these boilers...?
Thanks
Alan. :

Remove the bottom plate off the boiler and pull out the mains terminal block.

There is a switched live from the heating controls on L2.

Check this has 240VAC when a demand for heat is present.

Thanks for the reply... i have checked the power with an electrical screwdriver and L2 is definatley showing the power getting through...
I suppose this means it is not the digistat......?
Is there anything else to check out or is it a case that i need to replace the board.......?
Thanks Alan

The only thing I can now suggest is the board.

Does it indicate 'c' on heating demand but not come on? or is the display still in standby, 'O' ?

Thanks .....
The boiler shows "o" not c....
Do you think the PCD is something a competent DIYer could replace...?
Or should i get a profesional in....?
Alan

The pcb is easy to replace, just follow instructions and make sure you fit the jumpers in the correct position for your model boiler.

Hi Dave

Thanks for your invaluable advice...
I will let you know how its goes.
Hopefully not with a bang...
