i have a combi central heating system and over the past few weeks i have noticed that when the actual central heating is on we sometimes loose the hot water, we then have to turn it all off and change it to just water for a while so it works again.
also i have noticed that when the radiators come on they all of a sudden go cold, does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is? or do i need to get someone out to look at it?

can anyone help?

Thanks

I would guess that the part which identifies a demand for hot water is failing.

Radiators cannot "suddenly get cold". They always take about 20 minutes to cool down.

Perhaps the boiler is shutting down the CH delivery due to an intermittent fault.

It all sounds as if you need a competent engineer who is prepared to identify intermittent faults. Not all can be bothered!

I have a similar problem with my Valliant Combi Boiler and it seems that it could all be down to the diverter valve getting stuck. They are about £100. However they were selling some types on ebay for £60ish if you've got a bit of KNOW HOW and know which one you need!

Either way unless you really know what you are doing you will need to get a plumber in in order to get it sorted I think

Good luck
