Boiler Service

We've recently moved into a house which has a very old boiler (the same one I had in my parents house about 18 years ago actually!)

Anyway, can someone tell me how much I should be looking at as a ball-park figure to get a boiler serviced and can they recommend any decent corgi engineers in the Swindon area. (The last one I tried to get to do the cooker turned up 2 days late!)

Any help is appreciated.

We charge £55 to service a boiler.

BUT that does not cover floor standing boilers which have not been serviced regularly! It would only be £55 if we had serviced it ourselves the previous year or it was serviced by one of the very few people who will clean them properly.

In practice that means most of them! We then charge £65, £75 or £85 depending on just how bad it is and how busy we are.

It might be a little cheaper in Swindon although the time taken getting round the magic roundabout would have to be taken into account.
