Boiler spares

Are there any decent online companies to use for spares? If not, how about a company you can deal with over the phone?

I currently use HRPC but find that they are useless, need to find a new supplier

The online companies are useless if you are doing repairs except stock for you to hold.

They keep few parts themselves and order as needed and then send them to you. Thats usually a minimum of 6 working days.

HRPC do keep stocks but not in your local branch but can get them from their HQ or other branches within a day or two.

For new spares and to taslk to someone who knows what you are talking about usually has the part and invariably gets it to you next day but not cheap gassparespreston.

You have to hold stock, imho.
Even if the thing does arrive next day, will you be there to receive it?

I recently sorted some of my stock out. Only Vaillant, and only about 2/3rds by volume. Made a list and put the retail price in the last column. It totalled £7000.
But I still didn't have a pump for a VCW T3!

My advice - if you're mending boilers and you need to buy a part, think about getting two. You'll keep seeing the same boilers and same parts.

Good thing about PartsCenter, if you have an account, is that you can order parts to be available at your local branch. You do NOT have to have them if you find you don't need them. And you can take back anything you find you don't use.

Bad thing it seems is the people they're taking on.
I called about that pump. I got this banana brained tvvat:

What's the part number? (how the flying **** should I know, on site??)
Who makes it?
VCWT3 25/1 is that the part number?
Can't find it.
We can't stock everything
There's a lot of makes you know, Potterton, Baxi, Foreign ones and all..

HRPC are great if they want your business, we get a next day service delivered to our door.

But you have to do the volume. We have tried others (because HRPCs counter staff in some branches are just unbelievable) but keep coming back.

The online stock check per branch is really good, providing they stock checked correctly last time.

I have amaizing conversations with our pair. "when did you order it"? Did you order it off me or Andy" well you were both there at the time, and how come this is important to knowing if you managed to get the effing thing, either you know what you are doing or you don't? Answers on a postcard.

Whereas gsp "yes we have one of those it'll be with you tomorrow", and indeed it is. No contest.

Next day service delivered to my door is not much good at all!

PartsCenter (not now HRPC) make a lot of mistakes because their cataloging is pretty poor. More volume = more mistakes.
If their online stock checking says they have fewer than 3 of something, phone the branch to check. A lot walks. One branch near me had all its staff sacked at once because there were so many shortages.
It was their online service that couldn't identify a Vaillant pump...

We have been trying Parts Centre on line and its Ok(ish) just you get an order with an advice that some items are "to follow" but no indication when this would be, then your on the phone for ages trying to find out

All stockists seem to start off well keen then the interest fades and you get the bums rush from em, and they dont give a monkeys that you have clients screaming at you?
