Hi - I had this problem last summer. The programmer is not showing light to say it is on (or is not programmed to be on) yet the boilers (2 small joined into what I think is a pressurised/sealed system) bizarly come on by themselves!

We had three lots of people in who changed thermostat, froststat, a motorised valved, and checked all electrics. They all claimed that should fix it now but problem seemed to come back and now has remanifested itself around last Saturday, I was in the garden and noticed.

I am wondering if it's actually the programmer which hasn't been changed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Andrew

Make and model of boilers would help and name on controls, unvented or sealed system, make sure.... before we can advise fella

I have the idea that you did not read:

"read this first before you post"

at the top of the forum, before you posted

You will have to forgive us, credit crunch makes crystal balls unaffordable.
We used to have 'em, but not no more.

Hi Bengasman - Thanks for the reply.

I actually did do a search and found various things. What I couldn't find was anything about the question I was asking.... i.e. Is it possible/not that the programmer is causing the problem.

I think the programmer is a Drayton LP255, Boilers are Potterton (I think) and I believe it's a sealed system.

Thanks for your help.

Andrew

There used to be an announcement at the top of the forum that said to give all information possible like:

make
model
age
controls
problem
when first noticed
all the time/intermittent

It is gone
Say what you will, I was right; you didn't read it. :D

All jokes aside, the above is needed, and anything else that could be of influence.
