Boiler when shuting off sounds like a back flush/gushing

Have a Potterton Combi 80.

When the Boiler is used (pulling hot water/shower etc) and then the hot taps are turned off,
Then boiler makes a backflushing/gurging/gushing noise - reasonably loud.
It often locks the boiler out, and you have to reset.

Any thoughts on what that is?
