Boiler

I have a Myson Fanfare boiler that I know is about 17 years old but has always worked well. Last night it made some strange banging noises and this morning it doesn't work. The boiler fires up, makes some strange clicking noises / banging then shuts down.

Any assistance welcome.

sounds like the pump isnt moving the water.

take the screw on the front of the pump off and see if you can turn the pump with a screwdriver. sometimes gets it started again if its jammed.

I now have my heating back, thank you very much. Does that suggest my pump is about to give up and I should be looking to replace it?

its a 50/50 i find.

depends on how bad it sounded when it restarted.

dont be too surprised if it jams again.
