Hi All.

Looking at bonding Hardi Backer 12mm board to block wall for a shower-in-a-bath. Will tile with standard ceramic tile – nothing excessive.

Seems to be mention of two bondings (both with mechanical fixings afterwards);

- 6mm notched cement-based tile adhesive (Mapei Keraquick possibly?)
- And on calling Hardie themselves; Gripfil – 3-beads down the four edges and then down the centre.

Anyone used the Gripfil technique? Assume it might work out a bit cheaper? Assume it’s the standard stuff?

Cheers,
Neil

not sure i'd be happy fixing it like that, sounds expensive and wont allow you to allow for any fluctuations in the block wall surface
