Just bought one of thes to replace a gas hob. Fitted it yesterday which was straight forward as hole in work top was roughly same size.

Trouble is I thought the ceramic glass top did not get hot other than where the heating elements are! However, in my case the whole glass surface is getting warm / hot and wondering if there is a problem.

Also getting some wisps of smoke from the front left corner after a while but when I lift hob up there is no sign of scorching or burning. Do new hobs smoke a little when new? Its an ex display model so there could be dust on the elements etc.

The hole cut out for the hob is quite a tight fit, although instructions do not say it is importnat to have a gap all round!

Does this seem ok or is there a problem?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Chris
