Bosch dishwasher problem

I have a 13 year old Bosch SMV440 fully integrated dishwasher. The control buttons are on the top edge of the door.

It wont start. When I push down the start button the orange finish cycle light comes on. I have tried changing the wash selection to another cycle and the orange light stays on. The start button lights up as if ready to start.
Any suggestions?

The machine may have a leak that has triggered a float switch in the base.
Tilt the machine forwards and let the water run out on to a towel.
Then see if it will run a program.
Have you checked to see if it fills and drains?
