I need to replace my cooker hood, which is in an awkward spot where the ceiling is low. There is already ducting in place. I've found that this Bosch extractor would just about fit. However, to get it in, I'd need to trim the vertical metal trunking above the extractor to about 10cm, which would chop off the ventilation louvres in the side of the trunking. The actual airflow from the extractor goes through a flexible 100mm hose inside the trunking, so I can't really see why the louvres are needed at all. Can anyone comment on whether it would be OK to install this without the louvres?
