This machine has a front panel with five push switches for various functions that light up when 'switched' on. One of these switches is to start the cycle and it's been playing up for ages, requiring a special sort of 'push' to get it to light up and work. Now, even that special push only has an effect one time in ten. I'm not sure if this is a mechanical fault, or a dodgy electrical contact, in the switch; or something deeper than the switch itself. I'm thinking it must be the switch because it's been working, off and on, for so long.

I wonder if anyone knows if the switch itself can be changed, or if the front panel needs to be replaced?

The E-Nr is WFL2063GB/12

The switch is integrated on the pcb, as are all the switches. The buttons have a mechanical interface to activate the (micro) switches on the pcb. There is likely an interface or mechanical problem but you need to remove the control panel to verify it. Unfortunately the button assembly appears to be obsolete, but most other parts are available.

Thanks for that. I just took the cover off and started the cycle by poking the integrated switch on the PCB with a chopstick, so at least I know that works. I've popped a small blob of araldite on the piece of plastic on the back of the cover that pushes against the switch, as I suspect it may have been barely touching. If that doesn't work, I'll have to see if I can get hold of a replacement cover.
