Hi,

Can anybody help. Have had a lintel put in. Does the lintel have to be boxed in with fireboard before the ceiling goes up? As you can see the ceiling has gone up already. Chap doing it has said it is fine box up after the ceiling as the ceiling has a layer of 19mm plank and a layer of soundboard. Just concerned as we have had the ceiling lowered and some of the lintel will be exposed above the ceiling if you see what I mean?

Thanks in advance.

Nothing needs boxing in above a ceiling - which is providing the fire protection.

You need more screws in the plasterboard though.
