Because it has never occurred to me to think about or call anybody gammon, Orangina or oompa loompa due to their skin colour, real or not. My mind does not work in this way.

Regardless of whether or not it is his actual skin colour or not it is derogatory. I have seen plenty of other unpleasant references to white skinned people on this forum being branded as 'gammon'. Which plenty of you think is fine but heaven forbid if someone were to start brandishing brown skinned people as 'p*ki' or black skinned people as 'n*gger'.
