Brake Lights Constantly On - Peugeot 206

I do have to say the small Peugeots make it very difficult to find things.

Even the Haynes manuals dont always show locations either clearly or at all.

Nor do they explain what interaction there is between different units and rarely give all the pin numbers on interconnections.

I still have not worked out why operating the starter should operate a door lock!

Wow you are a legend my friend. Last night this happened to my little 1.9 206 van. Thanks to you 2 mins under passenger glovebox and now I'm sorted. Thanks so much! Saved my pocket just near christmas

Nearly 20 years later and this post is still relivent having the same issue, they stay on when parked up, and sometimes flash, but are ok when im driving, the left bulb stays fully red while the middle and right work fine and dim when pedals released l, have changed the brake light switch but still having the same problem, have changed both fuses, my mechanic told me to take the led side lights id put in but that's not fixed the issue, just wondering if there's anything else I could do before taking it back to the mechanic

There is, and you need to check the earth connection from the lamp unit to the body shell.......running a new cable if needs be.
I assume that the correct bulbs are fitted to the holders of course! (Two pin bulbs pushed into a single pin holder for example).
LED stop / tail lamps won't make any difference but LED indicator lamp replacements most certainly will.
John :)

The only lights i changed to LED was the rear reg and, thank you will give that a try in the morning

The multiplug that fixes into the rear of the lamp unit is well known to fail....likewise are the bulb holder connections that tend to rust.
Consider bending the male pins a tiny amount to see if you can get a connection again - but I mean tiny!
Be lucky
John
