Brick Flower Bed

Hi all

We are in the process of having our patio renovated and in doing so, will be putting in a retaining wall the thickness of a brick (see pic) which we though about using as a planter.

The question i have just been thinking is can i put mud straight into this, or will the bricks seep in the moisture resulting in mud patches evenually being visable ??

Thoughts and comments would be very appriciateed

You need to line them with something waterproof ... like polythene
