I wanted to create another door opening so that I have 2 doors. The openings are now being held up by a 20cm brick pillar which is only single skin. The wall is also only single skin.

My question is... is this a safe thing to do, it looks to me that if the single pillar took a big hit the wall would come down?

Thanks in advance

Wouldn't chance it myself. but more to then point it looks abit silly as both doors are different sizes. why not put one beam above?

You would be better off bridging both door openings with a single beam, remove that daft bit of masonry then reconfigure the openings with stud-work.
