Hi chaps.

Kind of plastering kind of building question so opted for building.

Got an old extension with a damp problem to sort. It's currently been rendered down to ground level, has no dpc as it was originally the coal shed or loo.

We're going to knock off the old render which will obviously make a mess of the brick faces, inject a dryzone dpc and re-render.

So as the brickwork will need covering we were thinking about breaking the render at our injected mortar line with maybe an expansion bead or back to back stops with mastic.

Anyone dealt with this before? Cheers.

hi monkey i was taught to cut a line along the dpc with the edge of your trowel seperating the render by a couple of mm so the damp dont rise above that level so there is no need for beading the line will become a feature
