Britony 80 Combi Hot water

Help please;Hi,hot water stopped coming out from the taps,it comes out cold,however C/H working fine(sometimes screeching sound,radiators already bled).When you open the hot water tap the C/H switches itself on and a very loud screeching sound comes on.When you close the tap C/H goes off.Could this be due to 3 way valve

Sounds like diverter valve problems. Fit a new one if this combi has one.

Dave,many thanks.It was the 3 way valve.Finally Hot Water+Central Heating for less than £100.I have been quoted between £1000-£2000 to replaced the boiler because it was no good?????Thanks again
