came home today, I noticed a low sound high pitch noise coming from my boiler.

Looks like this is due to the fact the CH pressure is running in the red, at about 3.5, Ive adjusted the water recycle, howver this has had no effect.

Any ideas how to reduce this pressure

Let some water out of the drain off to reduce pressure.

Now you must find out how has it happened?

Either filling loop is leting bye (remove the link if so until you fix the problem) or you have expansion vessel problems.

Search expansion vessel it's been said over and over again.
