I am recently moved down to new house in Leeds and there is already boiler is fixed which is Britony combi SE boiler.

I try to find and download manual and problems information on Google and I was found all information.

As per the fault I had not find particular information on this manual.
Problem:-------------

When i run hot water, after few minute boiler is stop suddenly and give me only cold water.

And 40, 50 , 60 and 80 Lights are ON at all time. i was reset 4-5 time but all time its works for few minute and stop.

All time I had 40,50 60 and 80 light goes ON and boiler stop.

There is no mention about this kind of fault description.

Sounds like its overheating, It could be the pump does the heating work or is it the same for both hot water and heating?

thanks for reply.
I had problem only with hot water... nothing with radiator ..still i am not using full radiator yet ..because its summer time and no chance to run radiator with hours time.( Just move in new home)...but i will check that.

What is the solution for overheat boiler for hot water..?

Could be a blocked plate heat exchanger!

These problem with only hot water. Only when i running hot water in full tap. with slow hot water tap and full rediator its not sotping with 40,50,60 and 80 lights ON.

Why is that for only full tap for hot water?

Its need to repair then what part i need to ask for to change?

To repair boilers you don't just blindly change parts!

You need an engineer to properly diagnose the problem and then decide how best to repair it.

I would clean the plate HE.

Why have you waited three months and still not had it repaired?

Tony.

Thanks for your suggestion..

Because its summer so i m bit lazzy but now i have to call engineer ASAP.

Can i suggest them to check Heat plate exchanger? or leave it for him to decide.

Tony,

I was called gas engineer for the boiler repair. He was check boiler in details and give me part to change for boiler. He will give me a quote for total works.

Boiler needs:-
Hotwater heat sensor
Divertor valve cartridge
Expansion vassel(needs to be presurirsed ) OR may you have to fit new external vassel.

Now i am waiting for quote. Lets see .

Thanks for your earlier help.

For that I would be quoting £144 if EXV can be repressurised.

But I don't think those are all necessary although I have not seen boiler so cannot be at all sure.

I would expecting to be charging £136 to fix it.

Tony

PS I wonder if he thinks that you only want a free diagnosis so you can try to fix it yourself and so he has intentionally listed wrong parts just to catch you out? Hee! Hee!

So how much would you charge for a 22 min job ( for a manufacturer's engineer ) ?

Whilst I don't like plastic boilers I do have to admit they can be very quick to work on. NTC about 20 secs to change once drained!

Tony

Guys,

He was give me a quote for £200 for all three things to do.
(Heat sensor, divertor valve cartidge and repressurised vessel.)

He also give option to not changing any part and only reset water flow £100 with proper temprature.

I think i will go for proper fix with £200 and take any part warrenty.

Thanks for earlier help.

Please keep us updated as to the progress of this repair.

You should not have to pay for work that does not effect a repair.

I will be surprised if those things solve the problem but pleased for you if it does.

Tony,

Now its repaired Engineer doing great job. He was speinding total 6-7 hours in total ( 2 days).

In addition he was changing three way valve as well. Because of past water leak some part was coroded.

paid £200 in total. for all previous post ( 3 items) plus three way valve.

Now its looks ok..Lets see what happens in future.

Thanks very much.

That sounds sensible pricing.

He seems a bit slow though but as long as he is happy!
