Possibly the finest, super cool racer of all time shows the boy how -- Yet again.
Sooner or later Jorge will realise, time is on his side, follow, watch and learn - close enough to disturb 6 races and I reckon he'll be ready to step up - But not if he keeps throwing it down the road, it must affect his confidence'
Anyone notice how Rossi now takes the start seriously?? He used to ride well off the pace, mostly taking the laurels at his leisure... Now he gains several seconds over the race distance by being right on it throughout.

Rossi is the master, tactically and technically he is a genius. Jorge is in danger of being the next Giberneau-a nearly man.

A subtle difference, the boy Jorge is matching Vale's pace but he seems to want seconds advantage, perhaps he is good for a few tenths... But then could he take the pressure with Vale always on his shoulder?
The longer Vale continues to have to drive flat out, the stronger the opposition will become, he could well become the architect of his own demise, effectively driving his young opponents to limits they didn't know they had... He hadn't needed to spend so much time on the ragged edge in the past, so wasn't pushing his opponents until the final laps.
It is a tall order trying keep the pretenders at bay as age creeps up ... especially when they are good and have decent machinery

Schumy delayed all that in cars by not allowing equal resources for 2nd driver at Ferrari.
Good on Yamaha and Valentino for keeping the game honest !!

Have to agree empip that Rossi will bring about his own downfall but what choice does he have when he has Lorenzo on his coat-tails?
Lorenzo needs to accept that he`s not quite the new Vale yet but given time he can succeed the doctor.Is Lorenzo`s biggest problem that he is apparently trying to negotiate a comparable contract to Rossi and whilst trying to prove he can beat him on the track he`s pushing himself too hard?

Two things Vale has going for him are his years of experience and he seems to be a `lucky` rider-Donnington being a prime example of luck and Barcelona his experience-events like these must play heavily on Jorge`s mind

On a lighter note anyone else see this;

You make your own luck in this life and Rossi is a dedicated professional, a great example to us all. Schuey although a legend lacked the charisma and passion of Rossi perhaps the german culture is more calculated than the Italian?

Makes great viewing though and my £500 on rossi to win the tile (again!) at Ladbrokes is looking good. :LOL:

Jorge has my respect though and no doubt will be a world champ in a few years time. HRC missed a trick signing him up for next year.
