My washing machine has started faulting on the tumble dry phase. The error can be seen below:-

I see some very similar issues on this thread here: http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=198410&start=0. My circuit board is very different and the capacitor described as faulty isn't on my circuit board (plus all the ones on there look fine anyway!)

This is not a new fault, we have had the circuit board fixed and replaced before (about a week before the warranty expired) but the new part only came with a 3 month warranty (which sucks) and it looks like it has probably gone again.

I checked the filter at the front and it was fine - so any other pointers would be great.

Remove heater box clear the fluff from the fan. Then check the heater and cut out on the heater box.

DIY is not really my strong point - looking at the washer dryer I'm guessing this is the heater box:

with the bit at the top right being the fan, and the cut out thermostat being at the bottom right of the metal bit (the part with the two wires coming out)

They use the T-? security screws on them, so I'll have to try and pick up a pair.

Thanks again

Ross

Thats the one. Does it get hot on drying does the fan go round.

yup, it gets red hot (far too hot to touch), and the fan does work (it's not on all the time, but I can hear a relay kicking it on and off so guess it's working correctly)

The fan should run all the time. Clean out the fan blades and the condenser at the back. Remove the heater box and you will see what I mean. To clean the condenser put the fill hose down the big hole and give it a blast to get rid of the fluff.
