Hi,
Got up this morning and used the downstairs tiolet (as per norm). As the toilet was flushing I ran the hot tap. When I did this the toilet made lots of noise, and seemed to flush for 2/3 minutes. As that settled down, the hot tap started spluttering and brown water came out!!!

I switched it off but every time i've put it on since its still doing the same. Cold tap is completely fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Kevin

I think your toilet and hot water are supplied from a loft tank and your cold there is from the mains.

It sounds as if the loft tank is becoming almost empty. Possibly the ball valve is not opening properly.

If my guesses are correct you need to check the loft tank! Or get a plumber to do it for you.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the response. Not sure it could be that as we don;t have a water tank upstairs. We have a combi boiler...

Sorry, I'm not much of a plumber!
Cheers

Maybe your water supplier has had a main damaged and done some repair work overnight?

Flush it through a bit longer.

Could also be combi DHW heat exchanger failure....
