BS4293

According to the data sheet in front of me :-

Magnetic trip -

Type 1 (Grey handle) 2.7 - 4 x In
Type 2 (Green handle) 4 - 7 x In
Type 3 (Orange handle) 7 - 10 x In
Type 4 (Black handle) >10 x In

SP MCBs have the following fault ratings:-

5A to 20A = 6kA 25A to 60A = 5kA 80 to 100A = 3kA

Triple pole 10A to 60A = 5kA 80A to 100A = 3kA

As for the RCBOs:-

Max Zs 1666 ohms and fault rating 2kA

This is from the original Federal literature. I have the time/current graphs here as well if you get really desperate.

Ricicle,

Any chance of having a copy of that time/current graphs, the data I've got is simply zs values for the type 4 devices at 5s and 0.4s and is not that helpful when you want to work out I²t.

Any idea whether the mcb part of the rcbos is type 4 or not, I assumed it was, but the previous test results for fattony's db says type 2

(P.s., ever seen a white/grey handled one? - a very rare beat indeed!)
