Did a mist coat over a satin kitchen paint then a first coat of a different satin kitchen paint....all good until....it came to the second coat of paint. Lots of little bubbles appeared...why? So now do I have to strip the whole wall and put up new lining paper?

What might I have done wrong? It’s only done it on one wall...the walls that were plastered and didn’t originally have satin kitchen paint on didn’t bubble.

A mist coat on anything but bare plaster is wrong(n) that's your problem and the satin paint has a slight sheen too . Maybe a coat of Zinsser Gardz will bind to it and seal it. Other opinions will surely follow ;)

This sometimes happens on difficult surfaces but can go as it dries.

As Nige said, also Zinsser 123 is worth a go.
