building next to a private sewer pipe and manhole

i've received permission to build along the side of my house, trouble is there is a sewer pipe and manhole that are right on the outside edge of where the new wall will be, so the foundations will be right up next to them (about 50mm), is it possible to lay foundations this close?

nb. i have spoken with Thames water and they confirmed it is a private sewer.

Not a problem, so long as the foundations are lower than the pipe invert.

It may be tricky though, if the pipe is say 3m below ground level!
