Building regs for laundry chute

Hello.

I am thinking about putting a laundry chute from an upstairs toilet into my garage/utility room.

I was wondering if there were any relevant building regs I should be aware of.

Because the upstairs toilet isn't really big enough to for the chute, I was thinking of having a trapdoor in the floor with a chute that does down at an angle, through a supporting wall and into the garage.

Technically you would need an intumescent fire collar where it penetrates the garage wall. eg http://www.quelfire.co.uk/Product.aspx?i=13
