Hi all,

We’re planning to have a drive redone and as part of the works planning to have a couple of large tanks to divert surface water to as we live in a high risk environment. New soakaway for on catchment surface water will be sized and located as per regs but I can’t find anything anywhere that says about tanks. They will be storage only and then emptied by pump into highway gully post event so there shouldn’t be any issue with soakage/similar to septic etc.

I assume it’s similar to rainwater harvesting but I’m really struggling to find any info on regs if there even are any. I’d like to understand first before approaching b/c to ‘keep the powder dry’ as it were.

Thanks in advance.

Does your area have a high water table ? If you have then consider the possibility of a lightweight tank floating up on ground water.
