Building regs new house - chasing pipes into blockwork

Im just wondering if there are any specific guidelines for how deep you can chase a pipe into a wall in a new build?

Ive read it is or at least was 1/3rd the depth of the wall which is plenty but i dont know if thats actually true or not

Yes, that's correct for vertical chases.

can i just ask- does copper pipe behind plasterboard need to be covered with protective tape - is that also a reg?
