Burglar Alarm problem

Hi,

my burglar alarm has developed a fault. The set up is fairly standard I believe - an internal alarm unit and a box on the outside of the house.

If I trigger the alarm then both the internal alarm (inside the unit) and the blue flashing light on the outside of the house go off but there is no external alarm.

I've tried changing the battery inside the alarm unit but this hasn't fixed the problem. I got inside the external box today and notice that there's another battery in there - is it likely that this needs changing or is it something else?

damaged cable to sounder

blown fuse

faulty control unit

almost certainly anything BUT either of the batteries could be the fault.

Thanks for that. The alarm was fitted professionally a few years ago now. Sounder and LED both used to work but all of a sudden the sounder has stopped working.

Thanks for that. The alarm was fitted professionally a few years ago now. Sounder and LED both used to work but all of a sudden the sounder has stopped working.
