If you are wanting do some of the work your self and have it signed off by a registered electrician, then the best way would to ask the electrician first and see what work they will allow you to cover, before they comes in and finish the installation off.
This will usually be chasing out and fixing of the correct cables to structures or within correctly fitted containment, as the electrician will need to see that the route taken and all safe guidelines have been complied with before anything is covered up/over.
