Right, I keep having the motorised pump valve thingy attached to my hot water cylinder buzzing. Its going through the night when the system is off, and is keeping my 14 month old son awake as the airing cupboard is in his room.

I know its the valve - already had help finding that one out! But want some advice on approx cost to replace it and whether its a big job - with a baby in the house it needs sorting but I need to know a rough cost of what I'm looking at so that when I start calling plumbers I know if I'm being ripped off (what with me being a woman!)

Any ideas? Thanks, Kel

By 'motorised pump vlave thingy' , i assume you mean either the pump OR the motorised valve. Swapping either one should take around an hour to 2 hours.

Pump is £60 ish
Motorised valve is between £50 and £100 depending how many ports it has.

So ask their hourly rate and this will give you a rough idea.
