The purpose of a bypass between flow and return is to ensure thats there is water circulation through a boiler to stop it overheating right but can anyone tell me would this cause any damage to a central heating pump aswell if all zones were closed? cause my gaff has zoned heating and zoned hot water but no bypass

If the boiler has an over-run stat or the pump is running dry it will very quickly retire.

Is damaging your boiler alone not enough?
