Seems a little harsh - he asked politely.
He did - but, IMO, unnecessarily, unless to facilitate some subsequent criticism if he had got the answer he probably 'expected'.

Exactly John. There was no need for the question. Nobody likes a know it all, especially on the Internet. He's probably happy and proud that he got a reaction. Another one for his chalkboard on the bedroom wall.

I sometimes wish you would include a bit of a quote, or some other indication of context! Is that comment directed at me, or at 1878efc55 (or both!)?
