dare i ask what the general opinion is without starting an on board argument. as to leaving central heating on 24/7. [ subject to weather ]
cost wise ? . is it more economical to use the timer ? or leave it on all the time ?
it is a 3 bedroomed house with a tcrv ? [ stat ] on all rads except the 1 in hallway where the main stat is.
the boiler is a ideal classic FF350. the house is allways occupied .
we did allways use the timer , on in morning off at night.
but we have started leaving it on 24/7. turning stat down to 20c at night and then back to what is required next day. so i suppose when we get the next bill or 2 we will find out. :) anyway it would be intresting to hear any veiws. sorry about length of post. regards.r.r.

The reason they recommend full control of heating and hot water is because they believe that it is cheaper to only turn on your heating and or hot water at the times you need it.

Think of it this way:-
All the heat you put into a building leaks out. The more you put in, the higher the bill.
If you had electric fires, would you leave them on in rooms you don't use?
