C.U./ Pipes Proximity

Hello folks,
Both in the Regs (528-02-02) and OSG (p.55) we're warned about installations run or fixed alongside hot pipes but they give no safe distances for C.U.s, for example. The C.U. in my house is approx 100mm from a vertical hot water pipe. Is this too close? What would be the minimum distance from a hot water pipe you'd install a new C.U.?

528-02-02 says "wiring system" not just wires.. so that includes the CU etc..

I understand but regardless of whether it's cables or C.U. they give no distances.

It's up to the designer/installer to determine the safe distance because it will vary depending on how hot the pipes are. Is the CU being damaged by the heat? If it is or the cable ratings are affected then 528-02-02 applies and you should take action. That could be as simple as lagging the pipes.
