I've got a 5 core 1.5mm 24v "control cable" in the wall that I was going to use for my RGBWW LED strip, however have decided to go with a plugged version.

One option, so long as it's safe was to solder barrel jack to either end of the control cable, however I'm not sure if 1.5mm gauge is sufficient enough?

The output from the led power supply is 2V 1.25A and 30W. Would the 1.5mm be sufficient?

1.5mm² is rather large for typical 'control cable' - so are you sure?

Anyway 1.5mm² 3 core can take 16A, so 5 core is probably a bit less. Either way 1.25A is not going to be a problem.

Ah no you're right, Ive looked at the wrong receipt. It clearly says 0.75mm YY control cable
