Opening statement: I don't believe this to fall into the category of "DIY Gas"
I currently have a Coleman 533 dual fuel, which is really handy and doesn't need proprietary fuel cylinders (read hard-to-get) because I can use unleaded petrol in it.. But it's quiet unstable and now I'm going camping with my lad I want something broader which won't easily tip over.
The Coleman fold n go looks ace:
But what puts me off about these things is partially the price for the branded cylinder, but worse than that is having the stuggle/worry to find a local stockist of the danged thing in the first place.
From other sources on the net, I believe they have CGA600 fitting (unverified) and if this is true, then opens up the possibilty to use the same kind of cylinder for my MAPP torch, albeit it the propane kind:
The Toolstation description reads "The unique formulation allows the gas to burn up to 5% hotter than other propane-style gases" which to me says I just run it with the wick turned down a little bit more than otherwise it would be.
Any seasoned campers out there who can comment on this practice?
