We have a problem with our boiler but unsure as to what is wrong. We had it serviced and afterwards we had hot water but no heating until pressed the inset? button at the top. Clearly not ideal so called engineer who replaced the circulating pump and said it was OK. Warm days didn't need the heating but now we need the heating on but find we still have the same problem but have weird sounds coming from the loft. Not sure but think we have a water tank up there. We clearly are not using the heating but don't want to keep paying for an engineer to have the same problems as I haven't a clue about this stuff. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

When the engineer is there have him demonstate that both hot water and heating is working.
Don't just accept he says it's working. He may think it is working on the boiler
but what is happening around the house may be completely different.
