camray oil boiler

recently moved into a house that has a oil boiler stuck on the side of the house worked fine new tank and pipe work just stopped one day iopened it up a box screwed on to the back plate carrying all the electrics looked the probable cause i opened it up it is rotten verdigres rust etc are they avaiable to buy as a unit or do i have to buy each seperate component :?: :cry:
 
Its difficult for me to guess what you are referring to. Can you quote the exact boiler model number.

If its a "cabin" boiler (outside location) and you have rusting you obviously have a serious sealing problem?? This might be from rain ingress or a plumbing fault inside the unit.
You don't sound too sure of yourself and the job, maybe better to spend a little money to save a lot by getting a decent engineer in?
Remember its wet components at 230v not 12 like your car!

Is it on the floor or incased in a fiberglass cabinet which would be approximately 1000mm off the floor. ?

Might it be an old Camray 2 ?
 
The most likely is the GRP cased boiler with the two top hinge pins. The problem is caused by the sealing rope on the flue-to-case seal when shut. This can be a pig, and I have made new plates to cure mis-alignment in one installation. The flue gases get inside the case and cause much corruption and many expletives.

It is also VITAL to ensure the case is properly locked down to ensure the seal.
