Hi,

We are wanting to fit a mixer shower on the wall with concealed pipes. The wall however is solid concrete. Do I just channel out room for the pipes? How much room do they need? Any problems doing it this way?

Thanks!

Best to make a false wall using stud partition and plasterboard or Aquapanel type waterproof board.

thanks for the reply. i've heard this but i've never been given a rationalisation. why is it better behind a stud wall?

Easier to install and maintain. Sometimes the pipe tails have to be spot on, and a bit of movement is possible behind a stud wall, but not if pipework embedded in plaster.

Allows expansion of pipework without cracking wall/tiles/grout.

Easier to fit ply offcut on which to mount the shower mixer.

Want any more reasons?
