Hello,
I have a Vokera 20-80 Flowmatic. I have a problem with the Central Heating system. When the heating is on, the pressure rises and eventually gets above 3bar and starts to run out of the emergency preassure release and into the back yard. When the boiler is switched off the preassure drops to below 1 bar. I then have to top this back up to 1 bar every time I turn the boiler on. I suspect there is a problem with the expansion vessel on the boiler, taking in the expanded water when hot. On my boiler it looks to be a big red circular thing at the back.
Is my diagnoses of the problem very likely and if so what are my options of trying to fix the vessel. Can I pump it up or is the symptoms described more likely to mean a new expansion vessel. I think they are only £50.
If a new one is likely are they a major job to replace because of where it is located or is there a nack to replacing it so that you don't need to take the whole boiler off the wall.
Thanks in advance.
Dave
