i have potterton profile 100 L boiler approx 9 year old.One heating engineer recommended that i remove the header central heating tank and replace with expansion vessel.
1. Is the above boiler suitable for expansion vessel.
2. any advantages or disadvantages for expansion vessel.

None atall unless the system has a problem and drawing in air.

Disadvantage on an older system is the higher pressure could cause untold leaks
