Hi,

We have moved into a house with 8 BT installed sockets, but only half of them work! Having spoken with BT, it appears that there were 2 lines running into the house, 1 residential and one business, with BT reconnecting the residential one.

Both main sockets are located together (the ones with the removable lower face panel), and I was wondering if it were feasable to connect the working socket to the idle one, therefore enabling the rest of the sockets on that circuit?

Hope this makes sense, many thanks,

TT

No, we've only 2 phones plugged in, but could do with utilising one of the idle sockets foe the sky box, saving a long, unsightly extention cable trailing around the front room.

To connect the two you would have to remove the incoming BT connections from the out of service NTE 5. That is not allowed by the terms of your contract with BT who ( vioa Open reach ) own the NTE 5 sockets.

Instead remove the internal cables from the FRONT section of the out of service NTE 5 and connect them to the FRONT section of the in service NTE 5
