My soil pipe currently runs up several feet above gutter height, with two elbows stepping it out from the wall. The whole thing is old and fairly unsightly so I'm replacing it as it's currently down while I'm repointing the house.

I see that Floplast make an AAV which is suitable for external use, the AX110. I'd like to terminate the soil pipe with one of these, probably 6 inches or so below gutter height, to give a decent height above the washbasin and boiler outlets.

This is the only soil pipe on the house (it's a traditional 2-storey semi). Is replacing the currently open soil pipe with an AAV likely to cause any problems?

It can cause issues if it ever gets stuck/blocked and it's the primary vent. It would need looked at regularly to make sure it continues to work properly.

Soil vent is possibly the only means to ventilate/relieve any pressure fluctuations @ manhole , commonly referred to as "head of drain", if this is the case then the fitting of an AAV would be detrimental.
