I'm sealing some furniture that includes a lot of MDF using paint, a major purpose being to stop any potential fumes from getting out of the MDF itself. Ideally I'd like to be able to use low odour paint so I can sleep in the room later that day, but I'm wondering if the seal provided will not be as good as oil based paint. Does anybody know if this is the case?

Can I get a good seal with low VOC paint?

There are waterbased paints that claim to be able to prevent the fumes escaping
